Raw video: Dashcam footage shows Sheriff arguing with state trooper

It started with a trailer stuck by the side of I-16 in Laurens County, and ended with five dead cows and law enforcement officials arguing over who was in charge.

The best thing a sheriff has ever said to state police. Seriously tho, the trooper handled the situation amazingly well. He never showed his anger to the sheriff, and yet he didn't back down from conflict until his support arrived. Even when talking to his guy, he stated the facts calmly and only expressed his anger in an appropriate way when asked. That's the way police should behave during conflicts. Hell, that's the way everyone should handle conflict

End of the day, Troopers have jurisdiction over the entire state, whereas the sheriff has jurisdiction over his county. Sheriff needed to back off.

Jurisdiction or not, unloading cattle on a state highway where cars are going up to 85mph (I don't know what state they are in) may be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. What type of idiot would even suggest this, when our horse trailers would get flats you call for help in repairing it, or you keep the gear on board to repair. We had a 6 horse trailer, we used bottle jacks, wheel chocks, and 4x4s to lift it without any problem at all. We never let trained horses out, let alone cattle. They could get spooked and then it becomes very dangerous. Can you imagine 1 or more cattle running across a 4 lane divided highway...people would die.

I love state troopers. They have to be some of my favorite officers. I remember when I was 14 we got pulled over. I forgot what it was for, but we we got a ticket. I started asking the officer a lot of questions about his job and if he liked it and what got him into it. He was real happy on the side of the road answering a bunch of curious questions from a 14 year old. He took the ticket away and let us off with a warning after thanking me for my curiosity.

The trooper showed respect but also addressed his concerns. The trooper is indeed in his jurisdiction regardless of what county it is. The interstate and all that takes place is his business. Now if the Sheriff is handling the incident, show up and assist. How can I assist you? Should have been the type of contact.
