300CC GROM BUILD BEGINS! [Grom Build Part 2]

In this video (Part 2), the teardown begins. As with all my builds, I start with a full disassembly of the bike. It just makes things easier since we're working on every single inch of these bikes. Plus, y'all know we gotta powdercoat the frame. It's just a given at this point. So here we go!

All these people saying Itsjusta6 did it first must not have seen Dodge Rider's 300 grom. And he did it without any kits, fabbing all his own adapters. He did have issues with fuel timing because of the throttle body positioning.

FYI: That Grom Motor is easier to remove with the wheels on. Airbox out, couple wire bundles and a fuel line, 3 bolts and its done. About a 30 min job max once the plastics are off. The damn fuel line clip at the injector is the biggest headache of it all. Just leave it attached if you are going with the bigger PCX fuel line, the Fuel Pump on the stock tank is capable enough for the CBR.

If you need to support the bike inside the house a tall ladder and couple of ratchet straps attached to the handlebars works on the front or near the rear on the seat hooks on either side.

For the Rear sets, one side will come off once the nut is off that side, we use a spare axle to push through to the other side and that allows the other side to come off then. But get a Chimera RaceBolt from Steady if you want to future proof it. It has nuts on both sides. Rear set access is easy from then on. Note: Rear Axle and Swingarm bolts are identical.

Editing the disassembly to sync with the music was so on point. I am so happy all my favorite moto-vloggers do these build series episodes. It's like a modern version of American chopper minus the BS drama and crappy dialogue. I would love a mega build with chase (and brian), moto (and fry), jake, and dan. It would never work, but it would be entertaining as hell to watch. What would work would be a build off. Just saying...
