Better than Toyota RAV4? Hyundai Tucson Hybrid 2025 review: Elite N Line AWD family tested

The 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid has been a long time coming. For five years, the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid has run amok in the mid-size SUV segment, effectively owning the ever-larger petrol-electric class of family car. But competition is finally heating up, with the South Korean model one of many to arrive in quick succession.

So, what does the new 'self-charging' Tucson Hybrid bring to the table? Based on the midlife facelift of the fourth-generation contender, it pairs a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine with an electric motor to produced combined outputs of 172kW of power and 367Nm of torque. Its six-speed automatic transmission can be had with front- or all-wheel drive.
