What’s happening in this “The Thing” movie clip?
While locked up in the dog kennel, the Thing attacks Clarks' (Richard Masur from My Girl) dogs. MacReady (Kurt Russell from Furious 7 and Death Proof) uses a shotgun, and Childs (Keith David from Pitch Black) brings the flamethrower to destroy the creature.

What’s the movie “The Thing” about?
In remote Antarctica, a group of American research scientists are disturbed at their base camp by a helicopter shooting at a sled dog. When they take in the dog, it brutally attacks both human beings and canines in the camp and they discover that the beast can assume the shape of its victims. A resourceful helicopter pilot (Kurt Russell from Furious 7 and Death Proof) and the camp doctor (Richard Dysart from Pale Rider) lead the camp crew in a desperate, gory battle against the vicious creature before it picks them all off, one by one.

Does anybody else think this is the greatest horror movie ever made? Not just for the simply amazing practical effects, but for the psychological horror?

Poor dogs, I feel so sorry for them .
They were defenceless against such an unexpected attack

The mix of dog barking, human screaming, cougar snarling, pig squealing, walrus bellowing, cicada hissing, and even lion roaring all accumulating into the most horrific creature sounds

when i was a youngster, my mom showed me this movie. she knew i loved horror movies, yet didnt spoil it for me. i was caught off guard not knowing at first what kind of movie this was. this kennel scene blew my mind! still love it. she grew up watching the original, this remake was perfectly done!

I feel so bad for Clark, all of the huskies he was taking care of were killed, not only that, but also in separate times. They gave him more hope just for him to lose, poor guy

Besides the dog-Thing imitation, I think the other scariest part about this scene is, if you listen closely, you can hear a bit of dog in the Thing when it roars at the team

One of the best films ever. Nothing ever will be made again like this. Don’t even mind the mistakes, like in this clip, where you can see the top of someone’s head operating part of “the thing” at 2.05.

Dead guys in horror films? Ok lmao.
Dogs? Heartbreaking.

I only noticed at 0:17 you can hear something that's NOT a dog just screaming in agony in the background.

Probably one of the many creatures the Thing has assimilated in the past...

As a kid my parents would never let me see a movie like this so I would go to my buddies, next door and his dad was super cool and had a wicked setup and we watched this movie one time and I had nightmares for the next 2 weeks hah, that being said this is still one of my all time favourite movies period, the practical FX are LEGENDARY!!!...
