In 210 BC, the first Emperor of a unified China, Qin Shi Huang, passed away and was sealed in a magnificent mausoleum, which took over 700,000 workers to complete. But he was buried with something mysterious, that would capture the attention of scholars around the world.

The most astonishing feature discovered at the site is the Terracotta Army, a collection of thousands of life-sized clay soldiers, chariots, and horses, each uniquely crafted to represent the diverse military ranks and units of Qin Shi Huang’s forces. This army was intended to protect the emperor in the afterlife, ensuring his safety and dominance beyond death.

He still commands so much respect that the chinese people fear to enter his tomb to this day.

I just don't get how a civilization could be so intelligent and create so many things. And have the dumbest ideas about the afterlife. A clay statue is going to protect you in the afterlife really😅
