Coding fixes all your money problems. But doesnt fix all your mental, emotional, and social problems. Money is just a tool to get things you want, nothing more.

As someone who doesn’t have many non money problems: this will fix 95% of my problems. 😅

Going to have to disagree with this one. As someone who's been through a lot of struggles personally, learning to code even though I haven't made it as a professional developer has changed my life in ways I wouldn't have imagined possible. I still work a shitty min wage job, that takes way too much of my time up, and I'm 30 years old. But learning to code has given me purpose, I wake up with excitement to build that next project, and get closer to financial freedom and a career that I'd actually enjoy doing.

Oh yes it will.
It'll give me back my independence
It'll improve financial stability
I'll be able to afford my daughter a better life
I'll have a better set of clothes
I'll have the best gadgets and gizmos
I'll have a career I am proud of
I won't be in the current situation I'm in

Money does not buy happiness, but money allows me to pursue the things that do make me happy. Hence is the reason im trying to transition from a Minimum wage warehouse worker into the tech sector.

Doing something difficult and getting good at it is actually a form of more durable happiness than just money. That's what Aristotle called Eudaimonia more than 2 thousand years ago. Loved your honest, down-to-earth video.

Man, your videos are the best, speaking real truths. Kind of reminds me of "the grass is always greener on the other side". Can't be happy, until you are happy with your own side.

You are so right. I learned to code. Now I make 100k a year. Twice what I was making before. I don’t have money problems anymore, and I’m happy, but money doesn’t solve all my problems with my relationships- which is what really matters

I hear you man, but I sure as shit wouldn't mind an apartment of my own, a functioning car, the ability to do hobbies outside of work, and eating healthy without watching my budget down to the penny. But yes, outside of those, money doesn't fix anything.

To be honest, it seems like only people who are wealthy or well-off seem to say that "money doesn't solve all your problems." Not one person who's struggling to get by, like me, have ever felt that way.

Didn’t know you did jiu jitsu as well man! Honestly approaching my coding journey like my jiu jitsu journey is what has been helping me through it. It’s been the most consistent hard thing I’ve ever done (BJJ) for myself and it really has a lot in common with learning to code/program. Thanks for sharing 👊🏼

Hey Dorian, you have influenced me in many ways and have pulled me out of depression, although I wasted the golden period of WFH during pandemic achieving fake success by playing video games when my batchmates/colleagues are getting offer from Microsoft, I now feel like I am lacking behind a lot and don't know what to start as I thought coding will fix everything better job, more money, that was the goal, although I hate coding itself so idk, yes you are right but it is the most paying career nowadays!!!

I must admit, when I first came across this video and started watching in the beginning I’m like man this dude don’t know where I come from he don’t know what he talking about. But by the end of the vid, damn dude you really hit home with this message. I really needed to here that. I’m just began coding a month ago, 39yrs old. Just looking for a different avenue, and been enjoying it since I made my first button on css lol. Glad I came across your channel. You got my sub

The problem solving skills you develop and the money will open many, many doors. However, it is up to you to utilize those skills and make the best of those new opportunities that appear. Your life is defined by the decisions you make.

Money is a necessity, but it shouldn't be one's "amulet". You are absolutely right here, as always - one should focus on what brings one's mind real peace and a feeling of value.
Tldr for below, life story, no one cares lmao
For me, I have never had as much of a "success" feel as when I crack a code problem. Learning to code now is actually me going back to my teenage dream of doing so - I dont want to just be this full stack on a real high wage. I want to learn as many fields in programming as possible - just because it makes me feel happy and slowly starts to give me back my confidence in myself, in my head and so on.
Hell, when I *do* land a web dev job, I want to save as much money as I can, as quickly as possible, to get a degree in CS - not for the material benefits, but because it's something I feel I finally want to devote to.

I'm Hungarian, I've snagged my first coding job at 30. I earn about 1100 dollars a month, probably less the way inflation goes. Learning to code _did_ change my life. And I still agree with you.
