Something tells me this is also due to Social Media companies trying to stop people from training AI models, so that you have to use the SM platforms instead of the third-party apps and/or AIs

My university project is unusable. I literally pay £9.25k tuition a year for my university degree and an entire module we have on APIs is broken unless I pay twitter £1.2k to regain access to an API I could once use for free.

It's so stupid when these websites that rely on User-Generated content do stuff like this. People just move elsewhere. The CEOs' ego is too big for them to realize the company is worthless without users.
