CNC Construction Set Drawing Test

This is an early drawing test on my CNC Construction Set book series.

After I do my fast and slow break-in tests, I do a couple drawing tests. This particular test helps me shake out things like loose bearings, or drive components that need to be tuned.

I run the test at a somewhat slow rate of 100IPM. I also have the acceleration on my motors set low as well.

The test takes a little over an hour. After I do the initial run and adjustments, I will up the speed and acceleration until things start to fail.

The pen I am using is one I threw together for the test. It is a gel pen cartridge inside a series of brass tubes. It is simmilar to the pens I build in this series:
