I liked the first season but this has almost nothing to do with the actual Foundation books. They've just taken the character and place names.

At least they could have kept the core ideas and build around them. The Foundation used manipulation, religion and technology to defeat and absorb Anacreon and the other neighboring worlds, even though its military was basically non existent at first.
Then in Foundation and Empire getting their ass kicked by a brilliant empire general, only for that general to be considered a threat by the emperor and eliminated.
The only good original idea for this show IMO, was the genetic dynasty.
At least it has good visuals and CGI.
Unlike the books however it's not something I would revisit.

first season, they barely touched on all the cool science-fiction stuff, did a little bit of political intrigue, but focused on boring harlequin type love stories that led nowhere, were cringe and pretty much irrelevant to the plot while taking all most of time in the episodes.

I hope this season does a better distribution of the story elements.
