"That's a love song made up almost completely of non sequiturs, phrases that may have a strong emotional resonance but don't have any narrative qualities. It's a real honest kind of love song. I don't think I've ever done a real love song before. Mine always had a sort of reservation, or a twist. I tried to write one that wasn't corny, that didn't sound stupid or lame the way many do. I think I succeeded; I was pretty happy with that." ~ David Byrne

Fully agree... Just made me cry... turned fifty-five and still alive... today... these songs keep me going.

Best love song. It gets the long term of love and the need for comfort in a lasting relationship. It's not gonna be fresh and new forever. If you're lucky, it will get old right beside you. It will be comfy every time you look at them.

This song never gets old for me. I loved it back in '86, and I still love it today.
Every time I listen, I get a whole body tingle -- the herz frequency just sweeps through in waves

Leave it to David Byrne to write a song your cells can dance to... ✨️

Simply a perfect love song. Part tenderness, and part nonsense. Because falling in love really makes little sense at all. Not that it really matters.

I think today is the first time I’ve heard this song. I’m in love with it. Found it an hour ago and I’ve played it 6 times…

"You Got A Face With A View"...
"I’m just an animal looking for a home and
Share the same space for a minute or two And you love me ‘til my heart stops… "

"This song allows my HEART to sing with All of Life's meaning... 'Thank You Puddin' for being... YOU." ~ Your Wingman

For me this song's most notable for playing during the end credits of 1987's Wall Street.

1985.. Falling asleep to this, on my Dolby sound record turntable player...! Best years of my life.... Life, love and fairness was possible...! How wrong I was....

I came here after finishing The Humans by Matt Haig, because the book ends with a passage from these lyrics. Check it out. Now for the first time I appreciate this song!! It came out when I was 20, and now I am 60. Both that book and these lyrics emphasize life going by with someone you love. So very relevant for me.

This song takes me back to a real life experience falling in love inKauai, ended up being a 40 day affair with a European that blew my mind. We got married at the courthouse and she flew off! Years later I am still flabbergasted!

Someone said this reminded them of me. They said it wasn't the lyrics but the jaunty meolody, I think. I can't remember exactly but listening to the words now I wanted them to say it was the words too. I know that's what great songs do and it's a trick really but I'll happily fall for it every time.
