'Ta Na Solbici' - By STMC Chamber Singers

Показать описание
Deep in a secluded valley in Resia lies a wedding, where jubilant dancing reigns abundant. Our next piece, Ta Na Solbici which translates to And so we dance in Resia, written by Samo Vovk, tells a story of a small Slovenian group that lives in the secluded commune of Resia, in rural Italy. A wedding is happening, and the repeated phrase “so noge na glas tarmale” used throughout the piece depicts the scene, as it translates to “feet were hitting the floor so loudly” . The sound of the Resian people’s feet drowned out the noise of the river Bila and echoed throughout the mountain Canin as their dancing was so vigorous. Resian people’s feet drowned out the noise of the river Bila and mountain Canin as their dancing was so vigorous. We utilize a bright, guttural, and nasal sound to pay homage to the traditional singing-style of this piece. We hope you enjoy Ta Na Solbici as much as we do.
