It seems American politicians don't share your vision. Sanctions, restrictions, bans, and the like are not features of collaboration, so China will collaborate with others. It used to be the US was the ivory tower of education, attracting students from all over the world. That is changing and more and more foreign students are headed to China for higher education. Experienced Chinese scientists, engineers, and tenured professors working in the US are headed back to China. The US has reduced student visas and those graduate students majoring in STEM are denied visas. It is clear the US does not want to collaborate. In fact the US is so fearful of China's rise that it continues to legislate anti-China laws and bills that further isolates the US from China.

I would go as far as to say the US is prepping for war with China. The US just authorized $1.6 billion to media to broadcast anti-China stories that demonize and discredits any hope for collaboration and teaming. The US has spent so much effort to disconnect from China that there is little hope that collaboration will be the word of the day. We are now in McCarthyism 2 and its trend is towards isolationism from China. Time will tell, but China is eating America's technology lunch and one suspects the only solution for the US is to invoke war and not peace with China as the future action to satisfy American hegemonic status.

I think China is the largest economy in the world if a realistic measure of GDP is used. The USA which produces almost zero can not be the biggest economy they just borrow beyond their means period!
