SpaceX orbital flight "BIG PROBLEM": FAA!!!
Huge thanks to:
======
It turns out that breaking free of Earth's gravity is a lot easier than breaking free of the regulatory state.
2022 is going to end soon but the SpaceX orbital flight is still facing an old " PROBLEM" called FAA!
Expose everything about this in today's episode of Alpha Tech:

This summer, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a 183-page report describing more than 75 actions that SpaceX has to take before launching Starship spacecraft from its launchpad in Boca Chica, Texas. That document is brief compared to the nearly 400-page environmental impact statement that the FAA issued regarding the same launchpad when SpaceX first acquired the site in 2012. Both reports were mandated by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

That 1970 law requires that government agencies study the environmental impact of their actions, whether they are allowing the construction of a new highway, permitting a new coal mine, or greenlighting a rocket launch.

However, over the years, the law has morphed into a progress-blocking behemoth.
The average environmental impact statement—the most stringent level of review mandated by NEPA—takes 4.5 years to complete and runs around 661 pages. That's up from 2.2 years and 150 pages in the 1970s.

The opportunity for public input on what happens with private property allows NIMBYs and other obstructionists to bring projects to a screeching halt, even when regulators themselves would rather stay out of the way. Projects that survive the NEPA review process seldom emerge unscathed.

In SpaceX's case, many of the steps mandated for its Boca Chica site seem tenuously related to protecting the environment.
For example, the company must prepare reports on the Mexican-American War and the Civil War, describing events that took place within the area potentially affected by its space launches. It will have to install five signs, in English and Spanish, outlining that history for the public.

If space x would have stated the full intent of starbase in the first place most of the issues could have already been addressed. Also this video strongly suggest that it is the FAA holding spacex back when in fact they are not ready to risk a full stack launch at this time. That is smart to do as much testing as possible beforehand as to not put the launch pad and infrastructure at unreasonable risk. Avoid a N1 replay before it holds up Artemins 3.

That's the problem – people basing their jobs on problems alone are usually unable to see solutions. There is also no incentive for them to help – all that they are there for is for compliance, and it doesn't matter to them whether the rules make sense or not. Thanks for improving awareness!

This is how the US Government retaliates when Elon airs out thier "Dirty Laundry" on Twitter.

So far we have not detected alien signals from space. Could it be life's destiny that it strangles itself in red tape?

The FAA never seemed to have had a problem with NASA littering the bottom of the Atlantic with spent first stages over the last 60 years. 🤔 They definitely need to update the way they work with the growing commercial launch industry.👍👍

Many government agency's lack common sense and it should be recognize they need continues updating and adaptability to the different situation of which their function is focused on. Good thing the FAA doesn't over see the Auto industry or we would be walking.

America could find itself in a position of deep regret if Elon Musk were to move his SpaceX company to a country with a more flexible permitting process. The States better get their act together vis-à-vis permitting by the FAA which is delaying a forward thinking company unnecessarily.

Or have a sunset clause in technology regulation that makes sure they are reviewed for relevance… okay review the administrators for relevance too!

Complete the drill rig platforms and launch from outside the international waters.

So what is happening with offshore rigs for launches?

Talking about regulatory departments not keeping up with technology, the builders of the Titanic were told they had to many lifeboats, they were told to remove some. They didn't so less lives were lost.

If Musk invested research in to antigravity reactors and engines space X wouldn’t have to jump through these hurdles.

Its over. After over a year of delays waiting for permission to fly, Musk has moved on. He no longer directs work at Boca Chica, hasn't been there in a long time. After the past couple of years, My guess is that he decided that preventing the extinction of humans was not worth the effort.

Musk should study the techniques the last POTUS had for dealing with bureaucracies. He was great at that! Use strawman lawsuits pal. This creative productive generation is dying out before your eyes! *The once outstanding US work ethic is dying thanks to the FAA* and its similar sister bureaucracies.

This will be so hilarious if in a near future we need this capability of the Starship to safe humanity but we can't use them because of the stupidity of us human will lead to our destruction.
I hope that is the case.

Regulation is just part of the deal. Just because you don't understand it, does not mean it's unjust. Quoting some random twitter user is weak. Glad you balanced out your opinion with a FAA response to the criticism or was that not your plan and this piece if work was just anchoring.

I think that SpaceX should jump the Rio Grande and build a launch facility outside Matamoros next to Brownsville. And then just start launching, regardless of what the FAA says. Court battles might go all the way to the Supreme Court, but by that time there will be a reusable Starship that can deal with the aviation part of the FAA, that Elon says is fine.

Creating a common sense agency in the government would be self destruction.🤔🤣

FAA is an "institution". By definition the main function of an institution is to produce work that JUSTIFIES ITS' OWN EXISTENCE.
