I don't think ppl who are not in her position realise how much this also has to do with confidence. Growing up tall means that you're usually the less preferred option amongst boys. This ofc doesn't go for everyone, but in many cases dating someone taller gives you, what you lacked for a long time - feeling just like the other girls and not being "the odd one out".

As a decently tall girl I think many girls may feel insecure about being seen as bigger or less feminine dating a shorter guy but I think if you can find a partner who doesn't see your height as a threat to his masculinity then it doesn't matter as much. Height is one of those factors you really have no control over so why let it stop you. People that are overly critical about it are probably just not that secure. It will take some mental strength but all in all I don't think it's that big a deal. All I know is if I'm really connecting with someone I *can't be bothered to wonder what the people around me will think.
