I became that uniform guy and haven't look back. Cut down my wardrobe to about 2-3 pieces per item of clothing (2 hoodies, 3 sweatshirts, 3 pairs of sneakers etc, all similar cuts and silhouettes). Now I wake up and can pick out anything without worrying about my outfit because I know I'll look good and feel comfortable with everything I own. It also means you can spend a lot more on quality pieces rather than having loads of cheap items that you won't wear.
