UniFi USG vs UXG

Here at HostiFi, we get a lot of questions about what the differences are between the Ubiquiti routing products, such as the USG, USG Pro 4 and the new UXG. In this article we're going to leave out the UniFi OS Consoles as these cannot be added to HostiFi UniFi Controllers and the UDM Pro doesn't directly compare to the USG devices.

Is the UXG Pro supposed to be a router. I bought one, went thru setup with success, changed the dhcp pool, and connot get a webpage to pull up

Well summarised. I will be switching from the USG Pro 4 when the UXG Pro supports RFC4638 (Openreach PPPoE) and the ability to customise how long the primary WAN is down for before a failover occurs.

My problems with ubiquiti routers (unifi line only):
1) UDM, UDR, UDM Pro, UDM Pro SE has features I do not need and I am paying (hard drive bay, 8 port switch (PoE also)
2) USG-3 and USG-4-Pro are old, outdated, will probably be discontinued and USG-3 goes only to like 300 Mbps, which is too low I think
3) UXG Pro is just too expensive for me (UDM Pro SE too)

I am home user and I would like to see UXG (no pro in name)
