I just finished my 120th time through the Bible since 2001a week ago. Oh! Did I mention I used to be an atheist? "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God"

I was once an atheist and read the bible to "better know my enemy"... End result? I now know the truth in Christ Jesus! My heart was receptive to the message of the gospel! The best decision I ever made was to challenge Christianity and God's Word! Jesus was right, if it's truth we seek we'll find it in Him!

One reason people become atheists reading the Bible cover to cover is because they take everything as literal as possible. John Lennox, a Christian professor has shown how you shouldn’t do this. Some are stories, others are metaphors, but the main message is true. I’ve realized this. I questioned my own faith over this past summer, but I’ve gained it back, because I realized that mindless matter couldn’t be the cause of everything. Praise the Lord!

I can remember once, having been encouraged to read the Psalms through 25 chapters at a time, sitting down on my bed one Sunday determined to do just that. I was thirteen years old. By the time I'd gotten through 12 of them I had to stop. I knew I was missing something. The reading was important, significant--of that I had no doubt. But the why escaped me. It just did not make sense to my natural mind. So I put the Bible down and moved on with my life the best I could believing there was nothing I could trust better than my own mind. Seven years later I gave my life to Jesus Christ and took the Scriptures up again. Now I am 67 and know that the Bible is God's Word that has been revealed to its writers and must be revealed to me by the same Holy Spirit that breathed on them, flowed through them, inspired them. If it is God's Word revealed, then it must be revealed still--to us--by that same Holy Spirit of the Father and the Son. Jesus said, "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:32) Also He said, "I AM the way, the truth, and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

I had my questions about believing in God and his son Jesus Christ. After reading the bible I became a true believer. Everyone should read the bible and choose your path. Either to believe in God or believe in nothing. Make your choice.

What's funny is all the atheists that I've come across either in person or on YouTube have no idea what they are even talking about when it comes to the Bible 😂

Alternatives must be compared to each other. In this case, the alternatives that come to mind are to be an atheist and believe that the cause of the universe we observe is unknown, or to be a Christian and believe that God caused the universe we observe and that the cause of God is unknown.

Since God is a bigger and more complex thing than the universe, believing that God created the universe is replacing a lesser mystery with a greater mystery. It doesn't help.
