First off, a Warforged bardbarian named Musicbox is absolutely great. Second, A bardbarian rocking the Elk Totem using the grapple technique is terrifying and I love the idea. Last though I have to ask, any thoughts on using a Loxodon for the grapple technique? They do have a trunk that specifically says it can grapple someone. Might be able to use free hands for a shield to add to AC, get some extra survivability. They also have "powerful build" to count as one size larger when determining how much weight you can lift, push or drag and "natural armor" which is always useful.

I'm currently playing a bardbarian that is a cross between Inigo Montoya from the princess bride and Broly from DBZ super. One minute he's charming and fancy then a brutish wrecking ball another. I love him

I'm making a Bardbarian tiefling named Dissociation! This video was very helpful in making me realize what I might want from them in gameplay. I started on Bard and plan on getting my second level as my first in barbarian. (Their strength and AC are each 17) Haven't gotten to play with them at all yet and I'm not entirely sure when I'll get to play with them, but I'm excited to!

I'm playing an Ork bardbaradin right now inspired by the Goff Rokkaz from 40k. He's a heavy metal, stage diving, mosh pitting, bare knuckle brawling, jujitsu-ing, preacher of the church of rock n roll.
Bear totem because "you hit like a little 'Umie". Lore bard for cutting words because "youz a pimply grot" and conquest paladin because "I'm da biggest, so I'm da boss"
My favorite scene I got to play out...go to friendly local tavern, get on stage and start playing "war squigs" by Green Sabbath. Say "dis 'ere song is zoggin awesome and youz gits is gonna loike it!!!" Roll to intimidate. Start a riot that ends up burning down half the town.

Always take Feather Fall cause you never know when you can grapple a couple gitz and jump off a cliff with then in tow.

I have plans to make a Tabaxi (or Leonin now that I know THAT'S a thing!) Bard-Barian character if/when my next game allows for both exotic races, and multi-classing.
Just a 7ft tall, autumn colored, bobcat woman with an southern accent that's the auditory equivalent of a bone-crushing bear-hug!
She'd be the party's cook, as well as the party's mom-friend, essentially. All the spells she would have would be food-themed, and her rage would lean in two directions.
One would be a sort of maternal instinct that would kick in should her party members get critically hurt. Her second type of rage would be where she starts to give into her primal urges, and cravings for red meat, something she'd sworn off after a certain... Incident...

If you meet the multiclass requirements of both barbarian and bard, then you also meet the requirements of multiclassing into a paladin, so you can take 2 levels of paladin so you could smite with your spell slots which is compatible with rage.

Yeah I too totally misread the title. I hope you do more of these multi class videos. I find them interesting especially with your wonderful break down of what you should get and when to optimize the build. Thanks Patrick for the hard work you continue to put in. I really enjoyed this video.

On thing I wanted to point out about which class to start out. When you multi class into bard you’ll still get that third skill proficiency as well as one instrument. Unless you want to be proficient in more than one instrument I would probably take barbarian first since you will have that initial d12 maxed vs the bard d8. And if you really want to play multiple instruments you could also take the performer background.

What about centaur as a race so you get the charge which lets you make a hoof attack as a bonus action after melee attacking someone after moving a long distance as grappling is considered a melee attack
