Everything Mazda makes does several things better than it’s competitors for the same amount of money or less. Truly the best brand for the $65k and under market.

Driving 2024 for a month and a half. 4200 miles, about 2200 hwy. Non turbo, 17 inch wheels. Handles like a sports coupe. Delivered with a small paint chip. Dealer provided touch up paint. Pleased so far. Great value.

I bought a 2017 CX-5 new.. Zero issues so far. Only thing I don't like about the CX-50 is the cup holder placement and the 40/60 split seats, the Mazda CX-5 wins over these trivial differences. CX-50 looks beefier and more rear seat leg room than the CX-5. Mazda all the way! Good video!

I purchased a 2023 CX-30 earlier this year. I had considered Toyota, Honda, Ford and Subaru models. I just couldn't find the quality and features at this price point. I had considered a CX-5 and CX-50; however, I just wanted this one for a San Francisco Bay Area/Silicon Valley daily commuter with weekend camping trips in the mountains (my wife and I don't have children yet). So, I opted for the smaller but very similar CX-30. It's been perfect for this! Best of all: I really enjoy driving this vehicle! It's very...fun. While there are a few things that can be improved, they are fewer and farther between when you compare it with other vehicles in this particular segment (most of which lag noticeably behind in terms of quality).

I am confident that I would seriously consider a CX-50 when we have children. Then again, we had family visiting recently. We took several road trips with two adults and a child in the backseat and the CX-30 didn't feel too small (although the longer CX-50 would likely help make it even more comfortable).

Just test drove the base model, after an obsession of the chevy trax. And was totally blown away with everything. The salesman at Gladstone Mazda let me and my Sister "Play" with the slightly confusing infotainment system. It's the non- Bose system. But, so much better than my 2013 Chevy Sonic! Love the built in roof rails to add roof rack later! Totally made my mind up! The seat felt so nice!

Amazing car. I'm looking to buy one. Just wish Mazda gave the Cx50 a V6 option instead of turbo engine for the higher trims

Just traded out of my 2014 Mazda 3. A few elements of the interior didn't wear super great, but the Mazdas I test drove recently definitely had improved interiors as you've been noting. Really reliable (non-turbo for me); basically just changing oil and filters. If you can't find that Honda or Toyota, check out similar models with Mazda.

Finally a review on an entry level vehicle that isn't loaded to the gills with top of the line features … Thank you for that!
Mazda is not the biggest player in the automotive market, but what sets them apart is dependability, the quality of materials and most importantly the driving experience. My daily driver, a 2000 MX-5, 24 years old and it still puts a smile on my face!

I work at a mazda dealership. Tried to get one. Mazd hasn't been producing the base models in cx50 for a while. That was months ago so hopefully they are actually going to produce some.

I ended up woth a cx5 base myself. Couldn't say no to a cx5 for nearly 6 grand less lol. The next one will be a 50. I really do like them a lot.

Reasons I chose the CX-50: infotainment is best in class factoring screen size and wireless CarPlay (makes RAV4 look archaic), dial input is safer and easy, AWD + ground clearance is great for snow and off-road, panoramic sunroof standard, and the two tone mesh and leather seats are amazing and perfect for hot climates. This never gets mentioned. Cloth seats on the competitors are awful and if you want leather they need to be ventilated so you’re way up in the price ranges now. Steering is stupidly good in fact it gets comparisons to Porsche of all things. And finally it obviously looks cool and has tons of cargo capacity too. All this for 30k is a steal.

CX-50 is the coolest SUV in the world.

1. Needs a better pano roof opening like normal ones work

2. Remove the rear bumper fake vents

3. Color matching cladding

My wife just purchased a premium plus one. It’s fun, sporty, great practicality, very nice interior and the bose sound system is sick! And it’s an attractive car for sure.

Cup holders are in a ridiculous location. Other than that it's a gem. Just wish the non turbo had at least 200 hp but it is what it is

I just got the 2023 CX 5, I wish I would've looked into the CX 50 a bit more. Maybe next time.

Overall, I think its about prefference, but when I drive my new 2023 Toyota RAV4 XLE Premium it has so much technology that I was almost afraid to buy it. It sounds like I'm in an aircraft when I change the gear selector to park with the automatic parking break I think, but you can hear all these mechanisms working. I never test drove the Maxda CX 50, but in my oppinion I still prefer the RAV4, the inside is more roomy, the view is better and it sits higher, not to mention it has 203 hp with an 8 speed regular transmission, plus the AWD is optional not forced to buy it and additional gas to run it on.

They need to come out with that hybrid version they've been teasing, that will totally knock it out of the park.

I’m a fan of lower trim models. It’s a great looking vehicle. The non turbo model shouldn’t have the awful stop/start. It’s a deal breaker for me even though u can turn it off. My 22 CX9 is a base model sport. I don’t need 10-12 grand in unnecessary options. If they still make these in 5yrs without being a hybrid or putting stop/start on it I’ll be a buyer.

I really like the cloth insert on the seats I have leather now and my back gets sweaty when going any distance. For a vehicle much more reasonable then the other brands it seems much richer in design.

The engine is the same as my 2012 Mazda 5 Sport with more horse power and an extra gear. This is going to be on my list. Thanks for sharing✌
