SATAN DEBUNKED

Satan or the devil appears in various monotheistic religious references. He is the opponent of God. But where did this figure originate?

This video discusses the evolution of the figure of Satan, or the Devil, in Western religious traditions, focusing on Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Initially, ancient religious texts, particularly in the Jewish Bible, did not depict Satan as an inherently evil being. This concept began to take shape around 550 BCE under the Persian Achaemenid Empire's influence, where the Jews adopted the idea of Satan as 'the adversary.' This idea was further developed with the Greek term 'diabolos' and the English 'devil,' meaning 'accuser' or 'slanderer.'

Evil, manifesting through natural disasters and human suffering, necessitated explanations within religious contexts. Ancient religions often attributed both good and evil to a supreme deity or multiple gods. In the Biblical book of Deuteronomy, for instance, God claims control over both prosperity and adversity. This duality was also present in other ancient creation narratives, such as the Sumerian civilization's beliefs and the Babylonian Enuma Elish, which attributed the inception of evil to the gods themselves.

The video highlights the transformation of Satan's role through historical and cultural influences, including the impact of Zoroastrianism during the Jewish exile. Zoroastrianism presented a dualistic view of good and evil, embodied by Ahura Mazda and Angra Mainyu, respectively. This influence reshaped the Jewish concept of ha-Satan, evolving into the figure of Satan or the Devil.

Early Christian texts, particularly the New Testament, depicted Satan as the ruler of the earthly realm, a notion further developed through Paul's epistles and the gospels. The Gospel of Mark, for example, presents Jesus as an exorcist combating demonic forces. Revelation, written by John of Patmos, portrays the ultimate defeat of Satan after a climactic battle.

The video also explores the depiction of Satan in medieval and later Christian traditions, influenced by various mythological figures like the Greek deity Pan and the Celtic god Cernunnos. These depictions contributed to the modern imagery of Satan as a horned, goat-like figure.

By the 2nd century, Christian doctrine increasingly personified evil, targeting various groups and practices. The portrayal of Satan continued to evolve, incorporating elements from different cultures and religions.

Well done! It is about time someone put context to the development of the concept of Satan. It's time we realize there is no such entity nor is there such a place as Hell, also that women are not the reason for any mans fall. That story does not put Adam in a good light, making men seem like easily manipulated fools and Adam himself as a coward that would rather blame others for his own choices. Thank you. Peace Love and Blessings

What an important message. The religious notion that all of our troubles are caused by “demons” whispering to us to do the wrong thing, or to feel bad about ourselves only serves to keep us separated from the creative force/ Source/ God. It’s lead to so much death and violence. In the purest spiritual idea, darkness serves the light because there is only light- an idea that we can work with to progress or vibrate at a higher frequency- that we can evolve spiritually on our own is empowering.

I really enjoyed this video- the rich tapestry and clear interpretation of the actual texts set us free from the dogma and control of organized religion which remains self serving. What an amazing time to be alive as the old institutions crumble to make way for the new Golden age . Your work is so inspiring, timely and meaningful to me. Thank you very much. :)

The greatest trick Lucifer ever played on humans was convincing them he didn't exist.

May the light of truth, and justice shine brightly upon all misdeeds. Those who judge see all, and know all. Their judgement will always be fitting. From the Apsu, Ki, to Kingu, to Nibiru.

I used to deny that there were no Satan until I eas attack, hovering over me couldn't see it, my cat ran out of the room, I called out to Jesus it left, I called my cat back to me he wouldn't come to me, he felt the evil was still there, I grabbed my Bible and prayed till I fell asleep. Later that night, it came back jumped on my bed, and on top of me saying, "You are mine. I struggled cried out to Jesus to save me. It went away. It was trying to prove to me that he does exist. I left my lights on and prayed for God's protection against the evil spirits.
So I will never say there's no satan.

Some groups need this as their official opposite for their campaign of contrast . For example it is in church teaching that people would not know for good if there was not evil.

The one who bears the most resemblance to Satan is JHWH himself, the guy who had countless people on his conscience, at least according to these old stories.

Human is worse than Satan, all the evil things human has done, Satan has nothing to do with it. We should fear human in front of us rather than fear the invisible Satan 😆
It is a convenient excuse saying, "Satan influenced me to do it!", Satan this Satan that. Blame the invisible evil force instead of recognizing the corrupt nature of ourselves. How we want to achieve enlightenment if we keep living in denial?

Loved this video. It is indeed the current academic consensus that the famous modern archetypal figure "Satan" or the "Devil" is an innovation that evolved throughout 1st to 7th century Greco-Roman period Judaism and early Christianity based on post-biblical dogmatic and propagandized interpretation of the many books, including the apocryphon, of the biblical text, plus several borrowed influences from other ancient cultures. I personally appreciated it when you accurately explained the role of "Ha-satan" as the accuser or adversary within the Hebrew text, similar to Prometheus in the Greek tradition and Enki in the Mesopotamian narratives. Although, this title often shifts throughout the text, meaning any human or member of the divine council(ancient pantheons) can take on the role of a satan. I tend to notice several people in the world today project their cultural conditioned lenses onto so many things, especially things that they have no other concepts for such as brain-induced hallucinations or even potential extraterrestrial and interdimensional beings similar to ourselves. Love the work though, keep it up.

Religious judgements, caused the division between (so called good and bad). So they have split the one true God, into pieces!
God is a spirit, (omnipresent) and is the life within us all.
Why: God wanted to experience life in this 3D world, through all of us. He also experiences life at every level, but other life forms are unaware. Most humans have been unenlightened until now!
As people wake to higher levels of consciousness, "When their Pineal-Gland" is activated", this is when they become ONE with the Father.
Jesus said, keep your "eye" simple, then your whole body will be filled with light.
Religion caused, the division between satan and the father!?!
God: is everything, "good or bad".
As stated, He wished to experience "everything" on this low level of existence!
He could not tell us his purpose, until: 'Our PINEAL-GLAND opened. But, when this happens, we will fully understand WHY, our lives took place.
God, will reward us for all we have been through. After all, we are all part of the complete ONE GOD.

The Thirty Years' War (1618-1648) was a major European conflict informed by religious divisions and one of the most devastating in European history resulting in a death toll of approximately 4.5 to 8 million soldiers and civilians died from the effects of battle, famine, or disease.

The French Wars of Religion (1562-1598) were a series of eight conflicts between Protestant and Catholic factions in France lasting 36 years and concluding with the Protestant King Henry IV of France converting to Catholicism in the "interests of peace".

See the theme? and what is the commandment that forbids direct and intentional killing as gravely sinful? 😅
