I remember if you don't hide inside of the proper area, the red alert plays early and Adam Smasher comes in, makes a comment about you being dumb, and lights you up through a wall.

This is due to Adam being coded to be in an alert state, when you dont hide properly adam appears and kills you and always knows where you are. When you're in the cutscene this state is still active but obviously adam cant attack you during a cutscene so he just stares at you.

I was just replaying the game last night to actually finish it this time and on this part I did notice him staring at me. And I got thinking like “this guy has so many augmentations. If u scan him it says he is 96% robot. So how did he not scan me in there if the body guard did. I would assume he would have some high tech thing to scan us instantly.” I thought it was so stupid how he didn’t see us but now it makes sense. He let it happen
