Save the Baby Pheasants! What is Burning? Wheat Harvest 2022!
In today's video, I see baby pheasants in my wheat swath and of course I am going to save them!!!! It is very important to stop and allow the pheasants time to get out of the wheat swaths so they don't get injured by the combine. Save the pheasants is always our mission at our Montana farm! You can watch one of my first videos to see me save the pheasants also!!!!
I also take a tour of our lunch in the field set up. We all stop and have lunch and dinner together. It gives us a break from driving our equipment and we get the opportunity to visit with each other. Lily Bean Cafe is making our lunches and dinners this year. Lily is the best!!!! Her husband Steve Wahl is driving semi truck from our fields to our grain bins and he is great too!
I smell something burning and we cannot figure out what it is. I am sure it is the belt on the combine header that Arvid is driving but we can't see anything at this point. Darcy reminds me how many time the belt has burned up on that combine!!! Darcy is so wonderful because he also checks Arvid's combine to see if he can find the burning I smell. It seems that one combine is burns up header belts every year!! Arvid is really doing a great job and we are grateful he is helping us during this terrible drought harvest.
We move fields which is a big process with our three combine harvesters. Austin is going to flag and stop traffic so we can move down road. Thank you for watching my video and I hope you enjoy it!

My Story…
Hello. My name is Kate Stephens, and I am an 18-year-old 4th-generation Montana farmer. My family has been farming wheat in north-central Montana since my great grandfather immigrated from Denmark in 1912 and homesteaded our land. My family has been teaching me about farming since I was two years old. I run one of the combines on the farm at harvest. I believe that it is important for everyone to know where their food comes from and the families who produce it. I love our farm, and I hope that my Farm to Fashion and Farm to Table products can help educate people about where their food comes from in a fun way. That is how Kate's Ag - Farm to Fashion became a reality. I hope you love my products as much as I do because this is an extension of our farm and the grains we have been growing to feed other families for over one hundred years.
