Thanks for the update. Curtis Judd had issues, too, a few weeks ago, but he released a final review that came out this week and didn’t mention any of the problems he initially had. So, I asked him if he received a firmware update from DJI with fixes, and he said yes. But I wish he would have mentioned that in his final review. Thanks for keeping us updated.

The locking connector flub was such a non-issue -- extremely common for those of us with substantial field experience using a variety of lavs and receivers. (I once lost an entire celebrity interview that way.) The locking portion can usually be easily removed for more compatibility, and I simply forgot (never again).

My DJI contact also went dark!

Fortunately my unit is working great no issue at all and I’m vloggin here in NYC w/ tons of interference around.

I don't do tech reviews, but I have 1100 videos up on YouTube, so I heavily rely on technology. My DJI Mic V2 has worked flawlessly. Although I don't use lav mics often anymore, I do have a couple of Rode Lav mics that worked well with my DJI Mic V1 kit. Next time I shoot, I will test my Rode lavs to make sure they work, just in case. I am glad the V2 kit works without a receiver on my Pocket 3, and I plan on replacing my Action 3 with the 4 just for the built-in receiver. When it comes to tech, I like less but better: no receiver and no wire, just turn on the mic and see the audio bar bouncing across the top of the screen. Plus, I use the Mic V2 without a receiver directly with my iPhone and MacBook Pro. It has simplified my setup time and has worked 100% so far. I do have the 32-bit internal record set up to auto-start when I record but haven't needed it yet. No receiver, no wire from receiver to camera, no lav mic plugged in. Turn on the mic and hit record; great audio and foolproof, which I need as a solo creator with no one to check audio or video; I just need it to work every time.

Thank you for the update!! I still love my set, so far it has been good.

The receiver turns off random at me once and I found out that sometimes, if you touch the contact pins (those copper dots that connects the reciever to the charging case), it triggers a shut down similar on when you put it back in the case. I have tried to replicate tha shut down many times but manage to do it only twice and with a very specific way of contact on the pins.

Simillar things hapened to me with the older Rode system. Thanks for sharing that! Its great users to know what might happen to them. Since my last fail I use Sony UWP and Tentacle recorders and I never had any issue with them.

My TX units both fail to record audio and if I do get recorded audio, it's corrupted worse than what you had coming out of your receiver. DJI is replacing under warranty but I definitely do not trust this system in it's current state. Any new units I receive will be tested to the max before using them in any paid projects. I did purchase the DJI Hot Shoe receiver so I can have solid audio on my camera, just in case the TX units fail again. Glad you were able to get a system that worked for you. I'm hoping for the same in a few weeks time.

Curtis Judd has the same interference problem. DJI said it would be fixed in an update. At least that's the answer I think he got. Until the fix the issues, I'm steering clear of this mic system.

I have a similar setup: the DJI Mic 2 + the MI Shoe adapter for the Sony camera + Rode Lav II.
One trick I found using a lav mic with a locking mechanism on the transmitter unit is to unscrew the locking bit, if possible, allowing the 3.5mm pin to go deeper into the DJI unit.

As for the interference noise, this might be a problem with the cable and the 3.5mm ports on both the camera and receiver unit. I often run into interference issues with the 3.5mm mic jack.
Getting the Mi hot shoe adapter might solve the problem, as I found the hot shoe connection to be more stable than the 3.5mm overall.

So I had a similar problem with my DJI Mic 1 in regards to plugging in a mic to one of the transmitters. After a few email exchanges they suggested that I plug and unplug the cable to transmitter about 10 times and it should reset and work. 😂 yeah, it worked. So, now I do that every time a plug into the one transmitter. Unfortunately, my unit was out of warranty. Rather than spend $$ on costly repairs I live with it! 🤷🏽‍♂️

That is definitely because of the locking pins in my experience. Dji mic first edition is not working with my rode lavaliers unless it is forced in the jack appropriately

We have problems with wisa speakers in combination with wifi on 5ghz. The dji 2 run on 2.4 ghz. Maybe you want to try and disable 5ghz to make sure a laptop is connected on 2.4 and then download a large file while testing the mic.

I had the exact same problem with the interference on a different brand but similar feature set. I am currently in contact with customer service to get the issue resolved, and they have responded to my problems within a reasonable time frame. The Ankerwork M650 are very similar in features to the DJI mic 2, and I actually prefer their round shape over the rectangular DJI. However, just as you said in this video, the audio was completely unusable and I was using them in a "live streaming setting". The first set would get the interfence randomly and this was in a rural setting with no major sources of interference such as cell phone towers, transformers, large power lines and etc. I isolated each side of the stereo audio through a mixer and both mics had the same issue even though one was more prone to the problem. I eventually duplicated the problem with nothing but a cellphone and the mic set with all other electronics removed. They replaced that set and the replacement set had the same issue but I could easily duplicate the problem by being outside of a 25 foot range. Yes, I did say that correct, outside of 25 feet, straight line of sight with no obstructions the audio was unusable. However, the first set would work at times with a range of several hundred feet, even through building walls. So, I believe there may be some QC issues regarding reception that use a common component to both systems. My audio anomaly sounds the exact same, as that poor reception, garbled jibberish that you display in this video.

I have huge issues with the Rødes and The DJI v1 where I live in Copenhagen.
It's as though 95 percent of reviews use these in the middle of nowhere, where theres no interference, but it seems as though you just got some of my problems at your end too.
I cant trust these in the city imo..
But for work in small cities and rural areas they are great.

Kind regards from Denmark

Can I buy a transmitter only first and then buy the single transmitter one and work like 2 person mic will that work?

Great Update. Don't feel bad; It's YOUR experience. Reliability is key. With all the time, money, and planning shoots and interviews take, reliability is #1. I'm just now venturing out and trying the Rode Wireless PRO (due to your reviews) from my ultra-heavy, bombproof, but 100% reliable Sony UWP system. Until now, every other system couldn't be counted on. Plus, glitchy equipment makes you look like an amateur- even when it's not your fault. edit: misspelled amateur :/

Wonder if it's possible to run two systems at the same time in order to record 4 people simultaneously. I'm not sure if that doubles your chances of having issues but ultimately it would be nice to have a 4 lav set up for us small time gunners.

TLDR Rode Wirless Pro is the move then? Got it, guess I made the right choice.
