Drawing in Proportion Technique & Demo

This is not the common drawing process taught for establishing accurate proportions when drawing. If keeping proportions consistent in drawing is an ongoing problem, this alternative technique may be the answer to all the frustrations. It is also perfect for drawing directly in ink, freehand, where no lines can be erased at the end. For me, drawing lines for freestanding things like that spire are always stressful to make (which tends to mess them up more). :)

Thank you Stephen for giving us a process to start such a drawing alerting us to a thoughtful considered approach with the help of dots, paper edges, angles, draft lines, interconnecting shapes, block shapes shadows and the need to stop and look and adjust and above all to approach these drawings with such an armoury of tools instils such confidence. In short it does not appear by magic !

I find that as I look at the subject, make my first marks on the page, when I look again, then back to the page the proportions have changed and they keep changing every time I look at the scene!😢
