Dwarves are honestly the people in all of D&d that could most use good druids, and 99% of the reason is food.

I remember playing as a Dwarf and we were camping out in a small alcove north of a village our DM had created known as Solheim. It was peaceful. Blissful. Until the DM asked,
"Have you all been purchasing rations?"

The question was a bad omen. Each of us looked at the other. We realized we'd bought potions - not rations. And our quest HAD taken more than a week - the standard amount in starting materials. One of the others was about to speak, another about to get angry, when I said - in my character's voice.

"Alright, boys, as per usual, I'm goin' huntin'. The forest is our ration now."

So I convinced the DM that my warrior Dwarf had probably - during the time skips - been going hunting for food. The DM was skeptical - since my survival skill was lower compared to everyone else. My nature wasn't good either. I pointed out I wasn't trying to SURVIVE the Hunts. I was trying to CONQUER them. I was a Dwarf warrior. Not a Dwarf SURVIVOR. And it was in my NATURE to do so.

The DM agreed this made some bit of sense. We bantered for a bit before he asked for some rolls and did a story about my Dwarf going out into the wilds to get a Boar and a rabbit, and possibly some mushrooms while the rest of the party took a break to do what they needed to do.

So, Freidrich Stoneheim, great Fighter, was gonna kill a boar. I roll Survival and Nature checks. I hunt the boar. Unfortunately, I overkill him with a powerful swing of my axe and ruin a good chunk of meat. The DM chuckles.

"I carry back the whole boar."

He stops.

"You what?"

"If the whole beast can fit on the fire, we're eating the whole beast."

So my Dwarf carries back the entire boar and some mushrooms he found on the way and didn't roll to see if they were safe. That night, we fed on full-cooked boar and strange-scented mushrooms. The Mage rolled insight. The Hunter rolled nature. They were deemed non-toxic and unenchanted.

Nonetheless, the next day, we were tripping balls on magic forest mushrooms. Fun times.

You need a bigger pan and seasoning. Now that you've got seasoned and cooked beef, what are you planning on doing with the beef?

That's just the beef, we still need the potatoes, ale and maybe a little country cheese

Father I don't see any seasonings. We're dwarves not goblins.
