The Quiet Caregiving Burden and Adapting to Change

Показать описание
Fifty-three million Americans are caregivers of loved ones. The work is often unpaid, and requires a substantial commitment of time, energy, and finances.
Today’s guest on the podcast, Max Mayblum, witnessed the burden of caregiving firsthand when his aunt got sick with terminal cancer and he watched his parents drop everything to become her caregivers.
The last thing Max’s parents wanted to do was spend time scouring websites or getting on the phone with insurance agents. They wanted to spend every available minute with his aunt.
He wanted to help, and decided to use his experience in digital healthcare to navigate the very broken system so his parents didn’t have to. Then, he found himself wondering how he could use what he learned to help other families in the same position.
That led Max to create Givers, a company that connects family caregivers to existing programs and resources that help them get paid for caregiving.
He joined me on the podcast recently to talk about his journey as a founder, and how caregivers can find the support they need so they can provide the care their loved ones deserve.
