As much as I'm devastated to see it gone, I think what's even sadder is that I will always see LBP as something that was killed rather than something that just died on its own.

Imagine being so miserable hacker that you decide to take a game server down that people just want to play and enjoy, no tryharding of anykind just straight up fun. Disgusting.

LBP2 had me in a chokehold as a kid. i used to play around in the level creator all day and try to make my own games. and omg all the amazing levels made by the community. i remember playing cod zombies knockoffs, horror games, and endless runners. so many hours of fun

LBP1 was a masterpiece, one of the greatest games ever made. LBP2 and Vita were phenomenal as well.

You would think Sackboy would be the mascot that represents PlayStation but instead it’s Astrobot

Hope the hacker's found, criminaIIy charged, and sued. At LEAST for obstruction of business.

God, a remaster of 1 and 2 would sell millions. This series doesnt need a remake, just a basic remaster with FULL restoration of liscences in music and copyrights to ips

I'll never forget going to my best friends house for a sleepover and he showed me LBP. We played ALL night.. That next day I begged my dad for a PS3 and I played every single day once I got it. That was THE game, and the soundtrack will always fill me with nostalgia.. good times :')

LBP 1 & 2 were major parts of my childhood and a way to stay connected with distant cousins, so sad to find out this was the fate of the games after all

I've been a lbp player and creator since the very beginning.
I've made so many friends and seen so many of them grow up and get their feet wet in the industry I'm also a part of.
It still baffles me how LBP and its creators where dropped like they were worthless.
The community shattered, the levels gone, and the spirit of lbp is (close to) dead.

That said, the way LBP was treated reflects quite much how the industry (at least its creatives/devs) is currently being treated.
Things really need to change.

I don't think we'll ever see an LBP like the old ones, and that makes me sad.
I hope all the people I've met in and through lbp are doing great, I still have fond memories of you all!

This was my good friend's favorite game. We probably played LBP 1 & 2 for hundreds of hours. He even had a Sackboy tattoo on his arm.
He passed away 10 years ago to this day from a Heroin OD . He would have been 35 years old today with an 11 year old son.
He and his girlfriend ( later wife) were the first friends I made after I moved back to the USA after nearly 20 years of living in the Philippines with my family. If you have ever lived in a different country or culture for an extended period, then you know how rough the culture shock can be when you go back to your home country so I really cherished their friendship and the time we were able to spend together.

Absolutely heartbroken at the state of this franchise, It means so much to so many people, I hope they can fix it some day.

I remember playing LBP3 one day with a pal, we had so much fun.

"Let's play again tomorrow." we said
"No" said the hacker

We never had a chance to play LBP ever again.

The thing about a franchise like Little Big Planet is that multi year breaks are a good actually a good thing.
1. Games like LBP are made for DLC, so outsource the dlc to start ups that want to make a name for themselves while the main team either takes a breather or does a new project. Then in 3 to 4 years, give the fans a new LBP.
Some franchises don't need a new game every year. In most cases it waters down the franchise.

Oh wow, I had no idea the Devs came from Peter Molyneux's team. It's not something I ever connected until hearing that but it makes a lot of sense. It's an unmistakably British game. I'll also be forever grateful to LBP for introducing me to the band Battles.

The lbp series will always be part of my life. Those memories of me and my little bro just fucking around and the moon building rocket dicks and seeing how fast we can go, making us laughing our ass off & playing created worlds like jeff the killer, shark survival, bomb survival, and those fighting mech map it breaks my heart seeing my fav franchise treated this way

Little Big Planet is the OG "make whatever you want" game in my heart. Before Minecraft we had this and it will always hold a special place in my memories.

I just don't get it. Even if Sony truly just cares about numbers, there should've absolutely been a LBP4 already. The sales on LBP3 were the best in the series YET!
