I’m 19 weeks with my 3rd now. This is the first video of yours that I’ve watched. I do videos just like you so I’m subscribing to support another mom! Haha. My first two were both induced and without an epidural. It wasn’t my ideal situation but my medical problems prevent me from getting one. I will say it sucks pretty badly at the time but it’s soooo worth it once it’s over. Recovery is crazy easy. With en epidural you start to feel pain as it leaves your system so you feel a little crappy in recovery but without one the pain only gets better in recovery. If that makes sense. I need need any pain meds during recovery because I felt great compared to what I had just been through. My only tip is to not give yourself another option. They can offer some great IV meds that take the edge off and relax your muscles. Which in theory should help you dilate quicker because you aren’t tensing up your body as much. Good luck! I’ll be following!

This doesn't make pregnancy sound very fun at all.

Not currently pregnant, but an avid follower of your Youtube channel, here. Some unsolicited advise, if you wish to go that way -- get a doula. If you don't have family around, plan to labor at home as much as you can, wish to have a natural birth.. invest in a doula. It is very worth it.
I have only ever done pregnancy and childbirth once and hubby is an ex-medical professional, and I had a doula. I wished to have a natural birth (and was a little scared) so I prepared like it was the biggest exam of my life.. researched, read a LOT, talked to people, watched a LOT of youtube etc etc. I also followed most of the hypnobirthing techniques, just to calm my nerved. My philosophy was the same as yours - I want to do it natural, but I am open to epidural and will be accepting of whatever course my labor and childbirth journey will take.

I was really far along when I arrived at hospital, but baby girl ended up looking up instead of down.. so, I was given epidural at 10cm (I accepted, but didn't ask for it) and eventually ended up having c-sec. But, at no point did I feel anxious or overwhelmed. It hurt, like crazy (yes, pain.. not just pressure!) but I was surprised as to how much I had underestimated my body. The positive, gentle support and constant encouragement.. the help with everything from getting into and out of car, to getting me / hubby water etc.. my doula made a difference.

No, not every woman wants to say they had an unmedicated birth. Many women are completely content with using safe and evidenced based forms of pain relief, like the epidural.

That was my same outlook on labor with Van! Made it to 8cm at home but because of a few specific circumstances ended up getting an epidural again. But I mean, I’m a fan of the epidural 😂
