You can easily change a name of user account using command prompt. This method use Windows Management Instrumentation Command and you can change username of Windows local account.
Open command prompt and type
wmic useraccount where name='old_name' rename new_name

Thank you so much this tutorial helped me I put an @ in my username by accident and Windows 7 locked me out but this tutorial help me change the username from the command line and there is a few tutorials out there to enable command prompt on the login screen I will subscribe to not miss out on any of a good tutorials like this😊
