Just got my Commencal Meta Power SX Race 2 days ago and I've already put 130km on it. Loving the EP8 motor, it's so predictable and responsive. The bike is a beast but I think it has too much travel and the head tube angle is too slack. The long travel just sucks up the rollers and bumps that I would normally be able to pop off on my trail bike. Also the head tube angle makes it really hard to get cornering traction on sharp switchbacks etc. and it just feels like a bus to turn. It's great on steep terrain but I've ridden the same steep terrain on my Stumpjumper with a relatively steep 66.5 degree head angle and I never head any problems so I think the 63 degree head angle is unnecessary and 99% of the time it's a detriment to the way it rides. I'm really enjoying the bike but I don't think I'll keep it long term. My next ebike will 100% be a 150/160mm travel trail bike. The Canyon Spectral:ON is on the top of my list at the moment but I'll keep using the Commencal for a while and maybe upgrade in 2022 or 2023.

I bought a Giant Reign instead of the Trance because of the downhill performance. I will always go with more travel now that I've experienced it. I'm holding onto it thru next yr and I'm very intrigued with the Kelly Theos because I feel 700 battery is needed to go 30+ mi in the mountainous Lake Tahoe area and the weight reduction will save upper body strength. The Reign is awesome both going up and down but it needs the extra battery to bring it up to 750W which then brings the weight up even more. Picky picky but I want to wait and see the new tech for 2022. I'd prefer 800W battery, chainstay in the 450 range and weight somewhwere around 20-21kg. We'll see.

Looking at the new vitus when it comes out, seems the best for the money and even better with the discount that shows up when i add it to the basket. Hopefully they wont change that when it comes out.

As the Shimano EP8 is tunable by user with the app, Shimano should release a RACE TUNE setting for the EP8. That would bring them back in the game for racing. This is because the difference between 85nm shimano and bosch is mainly in the motor tune where shimano releases power early in low cadence and bosch later in higher cadence. Resulting the bosch bike to be faster on a measured distance, especially on the uphill where you are often on a high cadence making best use of leg and motorpower at the same time.

Hi, what is your oppinio about the more open angle of the bikes with more rear travel like you said its what you choose more than 160mm for example but to normal ride or to do some km in the end its good or no more than 65º for example 63, 5º? cheers

Just get my meta SX! Its an absolut beast! Climping is super fun! And downhill it gives you so much confidence its incredible!

Hi Sam, what is your opinion on the Moustashe bikes? Why are they so little publicized if they were one of the first to enter the market? I bought the Game 6 2021 and I am very happy with it.

2021 most definitely nothing...((
but for 2022 SC Bullit hopefully with a revised EP8 not clocking while coasting...
