Meet the 'Wizard of Make' Bob Martin from Microchip - Altium OnTrack Insight
Показать описание
Bob Martin talks about prototyping with Arduino, the importance of making mistakes, and efficient PCB design.
Bob Martin was an avid Maker before that word was a widespread term, tearing gadgets apart to see how they work his entire life. After obtaining his B.S.E.E. from the University of Saskatchewan, his early career spanned everything from installing specialized instruments into Arctic weather stations, to designing industrial control systems and supporting upper atmospheric research campaigns.
Moving to the Bay Area 20 years ago, he continued his concentration on embedded systems. After a decade at National Semiconductor which exposed him to the wonderful world of analog, Bob helped a few startups before landing at Atmel, where he managed a microcontroller applications team. There, Bob became deeply involved with Arduino and the Maker movement, supporting both 8 and 32 bit microcontroller platforms.
With 30 years of embedded design experience, Bob continues his role keeping the Maker spirit alive within Microchip, educating and inspiring makers and professionals alike. He continues to create, experiment and explore as much as he can.
Bob lives in Sunnyvale with his wife, twin daughters and a cat with no teeth. Along with a garage full of surplus wire and boxes of “vintage electronics” that really need to be recycled.
