The Traveling and Road trip advise is spot on for Aus. But, isn't Indiana Jones afraid of snakes?

Yeah, I had a good laugh at some tourists who had tried to do a round Australia trip. They stopped me and asked how far they were from Darwin (state capital of Northern Territory). I googled it to make sure I was reasonably accurate and told them that if they drove 8hrs a day, they'd get there in about 5 days. They didn't believe me when I told them they were still in the same state they'd started in that morning. They were international students from different countries, but the two who spoke to me were French and English. No idea where the other two were from, they stayed in the car.

I think your planning advice was spot on with the map and iconic sites you want to see prior to paying for a trip down under (straight to Sydney and then work it out from there might not be financially or time worthy; planning is key) and probably hire a car or Campervan (RV) depending on where you want to visit because on those road trips you can find little hidden gems and the best bakeries in those little country towns too.
A good list and to add to the snakes, just observe from a distance no matter the species and all species are protected under the Wildlife Act of Australia, so if you're seen killing one in panic mode, and they dob you in, you'll be dealt with harshly.

Great advice, Jordi!!! If you do find injured wildlife, please call WIRES to assist. There may be different organisations in different states.

Some places i love to see even though i have seen them so often, the blue lake in SA. The healesville sanctuary in healesville victoria. Dismal swamp in tassie. The crocadile farm in Cairns.

Wildlife: even echidnas are dangerous when driving! If you hit one your tyre is punctured in multiple places and if it gets more than one, you need to be towed. Don't swerve for anything, brake, keep car straight, and relax! Relax so that if you make contact you will do less damage to yourself. Rigid body will cause injury to you. Oh, and if it is night, turn high beams off if it stops and looks at you.

For an extra dose of Aussie, change "no worries" into "no wukkas"
