Well lucky me. Seems I'm in the .05%.

I suffered from it since childhood, and only this year I found good treatment - mineral sun cream 50 (I believe with zinc oxide)- it basically creates a phisical barrier from sun rays! This is the only thing that helped me. Everytime I go out during hot sunny days I apply this cream and I don't get any rash afterwards. Hope someone finds it helpful

hello, the 0.5% here :(
i was diagnosed when i was around 12, i am now 17 and putting all the physical stuff aside oh boy, that really messes with your brain and emotions too. i remember all the times people looked at me in disbelief whan i said "im sun allergic" and how some people forced me to go outside in a nice sunny day
it was a hell for me, every little part of my body would hurt for days, it felt like being burned alive
if you can, go to therapy cause it really damages you not only on the outside, but also in the inside
remember, you are not alone ♡

People always thought I was crazy when I told them that sunlight makes me itchy.

My mom suffered from a sun allergy. She would develop the red splotches that would itch severely and scarred her arms. She always had a special, high SPF sunscreen and long sleeved shirts, which didn't always help her. She rarely went out in the summer. Unfortunately it was almost unavoidable for her, especially when driving. Her left arm was constantly in the sun. She developed it later in life, while pregnant with me.

This happened to me after working the grave yard shift for a few years. After having not been exposed to the sun for such a long time, the day I did walk out into the sun, i broke out in hives almost immediately all over my body. Not only that, the sun light would be very feel very uncomfortable. I had to slowly get used to sunlight again. Now I feel fine being exposed to sun light.

I developed this as an adult in my early 20s. I totally thought it was from the sand at the beach but then one day I broke out sitting in sun on my deck. Just found out a month ago it’s from the sun. I have a breakout now from doing yoga outside on a sunny day

There is also lupus which can also cause sun related reactions.

Doesn't matter I am still not going outside.

I've had hives from sun exposure! It doesn't happen often now but when I was younger multiple days of heavy sun exposure in a row could cause nasty hives on my hands and arms.

Clearly it's quite dangerous. Hank has been transformed into a beautiful asian man.

When I am in the sun, my hand goes red and starts itching everywhere.😞 And it bothers me a lot because my hobby is gardening!
