Low wages for some rail workers (not drivers) of £31, 000 plus per year? This MP needs to talk about PENSIONERS existing on around £8000 per year if they are lucky. I worked every day of my life at skilled jobs and never got anywhere near the figure he quoted for "cleaners, station attendants and other rail workers. As for drivers earning £70, 000 per year for sitting on their backsides pulling and pushing levers to make the trains move and recognising stop or go signals, the mind boggles.

Nigel, you have misled the audience. Train drivers are mostly in ASLEF, not the RMT. Train drivers are NOT on strike. It is conductors, cleaners and others who earn relatively low pay who are on strike. Facts, Nigel, facts.
