I bought a pair of R50's to use in the studio as webcams. They are great for that. But recently I started picking one up to go out and shoot stills, and I'm sort of shocked at how much I enjoy it. For anything other than birds, I really don't need to shoot 30 fps, and it's just sort of fun to shoot with.

Lml its like a new canon m50 with slightly different specs but nice I’ll be purchasing one of those later this year

It’s a near perfect little camera for everything and traveling. I just wish it was a bit more robust and had IBIS. All cameras should come with IBIS especially the entry level ones.

I just got the R50 for my astrophotography setup. And is perfect on for the use I'm pretending.

And it's a plus that it also is a GREAT road trip camera, for those kind of shoot for people who is into photography but doesn't always have the chance to do it

I was considering this vs a Sony a6400 for photography. I picked the Sony camera, because the lens selection on RF mount is quite subpar, especially with the lack of 3rd party options, the Sony feature set was more compelling to me and honestly, the ergonomics on the R50 are awful- a tiny little lip to anchor your fingertips against vs a thicker, wider, albeit still slightly small (compared to the a6600/a6700 grips and their big batteries) handle.

I can’t seem to find the settings for anything other that 4k25, 1080p50, or 1080p25? I can’t see any other 4k30 or 1080p120

I have the Canon R50! Personally, I love it, but its burst mode is kind of underwhelming. The buffer fills up quickly so it isn't as useful as you'd think. Otherwise, this camera is great!
