The R8 is a lot of camera for $1500. The biggest miss for me with this camera is the LP-E17 battery. If it had an LP-E6N battery I’d buy one in a heartbeat as a B camera to accompany my EOS R6 Mkii (and to replace my EOS R).

The R50 looks to be a great beginner camera.

The R8 is making me reconsider getting the new Panasonic S5ii. As a filmmaker, being able to shoot full frame 10-bit 422 with a $1, 500 camera is a game changer. Seriously. I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger on the S5ii. Plus, Canon captures skin tones better than its competitors. Wow. Big news. Thanks, B&H.

I have been shooting real estate with the R50 and Nisi 9mm f/2.8 - 13.5mm full-frame equivalent for about a year now. Is it worth upgrading to the R8 with the Laowa 12mm f/2.8 RF lens? The distortion and vignetting of the Nisi 9mm are certainly factors. However, they are 80% corrected in post.

It's kind of deceptive to call the 55-210mm lens an f/5 lens when, of course, it's f/7.1 at the long end. You make it sound like a constant aperture lens when it isn't. Same with the other zoom lens.

I get it. You want to play down how dim these lenses are now at the long end. But that's shady

Great video, but I'm not impressed with Canon's release. Is it safe to say that Canon won't allow any third party lenses for these either? F/4.5... really?
It seems like Canon is just trying to fill out the R line until they run out of numbers. With exception of the autofocus, the R line doesn't really impress me. My 5d MKIV and my M6 MKII are still very viable systems. I've been a Canon shooter for 20 years, but for some reason I'm not feeling it as of the last 2-3 years.

I am thinking of getting an R7 or an R50. I do of course fancy the R7 a lot more since it has better video features, but if I had a tighter budget, do you think I could still make nice looking films with the R50? I am currently using the R100 for all my short films and through it I have improved on my cinematography. I would really love the R50 but the no LOG is such a bummer for me. I really just want a camera that has a good uncropped 4k at 24p and 10 bit 4:2:2 video. I wanan be able to have more freedom in color grading than my R100 with 8 bit video

I also bought the Canon R50 with the 18-45 mm lens but the lens cannot be completely retracted so it cannot reach the completely closed original position. I don't know if my description was understandable but is that normal or is my lens broken?

Seriously considering the R8 because of USB-C power and limitless, per say, record time. I have a Ninja V, so single card slot is not an issue. But, can the R8 record to both the SD card and external recorder?

Here's a question about the EVF, since its a screen does it change with the camera settings, as in, will what I see in the EVF be what the photo is when taken? Or does the EVF simply copy the function of the mirror and you have to look at the screen after the shot is taken to see how it came out?
