14:43 — ABSOLUTELY! Configs with 3070Ti & 4060 are estimated to be in somewhat similar price spots, so it's definitely the topic to consider a deeper dive into 👌🏻

Where this will truly work well is the 100w-120w slim variants as they will perf near identical to the full 140w 4060

This is exactly the laptop I have in mind to buy, thanks again Jarrod!

I hope more budget focused standard gaming laptops (Omen, Legion 5, Acer, Asus, etc) also include higher TGP GPUs (115W+DB) as this gen. on TSMC seems to be really well managed in terms of thermals!
Most of the laptops you've reviewed have the GPUs comfortably cool in the 70s!

Of course, the slim laptops will also benefit, but I wanna see full power GPUs in mainstream gaming laptops!

Great review as always. Regarding using Furmark instead of Unigen benchmark, I think Unigen still should be included to provide a more relasistic view of the GPU Power consumption. Furmark artifically pushes the limit to its max which can give a worng idea to people that their 4060 and 4070 laptops can push that much power whereas in reality, in all the reviews I have checked, they never go past 110W, even in the thicker and heavier higher end models like Legion 5 Pro and ROG Strix series. It may also help people to choose a 100W-110W slicker gaming laptop than those big boys for 4060 and 4070 as in reality, those are the maximum those GPUs going to use.

As someone who owns this laptop, it’s so cool! You presented it perfectly, keep up the good work :)

You can flip the function row keys behavior by pressing fn + esc, now you can directly perform the alternative actions on key press (change volume, change brightness...etc), then you'll have to press fn + F1-12 to access F1-12 keys, this works for all modern MSI laptops, the light on the esc key is for this functionally, when it's off you can directly access actions.

I hope you review the Scar 16 with the 4080 soon. Would love to see where it stacks. Great work as always!

There is a trick to opening the GP series of laptops but it makes it WAY easier. If you close the laptop and look at it top up, you will see a small section towards the back. There is a thin panel that pops off fairly easy with some clips (careful these clips break VERY easy). Once this is off you can flip the laptop and pop the bottom off starting from the back first instead of the front first.

I very much enjoy your real life approach to laptop reviews. Oddly it seems that some of the premium top end units have serious quality control issues that makes a buying decision more challenging.

I have a Zephyrus M16 2022, put new liquid metal on CPU and GPU and flashed 150W vbios. Temperature are more than ok and it is a beast now!

Will you review the Legion Slim 5i and slim 7i eventually?
Can you also do a comparison between the two if you can?
Thanks for the great video Jarod. Keep up the good work

4060 vs 3070ti comparison is defineatly needed. Rocking L5 Pro 2022 myself and wanted to ensure myself that i didn't pull the tirgger too early by going with 3070ti.

I'm still happy to use Legion 5 17IMH05H 6 core 32GB RAM Nvidia 2060M 6GB VRAM
Most game I'm playing:
Fullhd ultra/high settings 60+ fps
1440p some game low settings 40/55 fps > most game I'm playing normal/high settings 40/60 fps.

Laptop is silent and while playing games it isn't that loud or irritating for your ears. I'm using LegionFan Controll and to 60C degree put fans at 0 speed while watching movies or webrowsing, music listening etc.

Hey Jarrod, when are you doing a review of the Acer Predator Helios 16 with the RTX 4070? Should I get the ROG Strix G17 (2022) with the RTX 3070 Ti or the Acer Predator Helios 16 with RTX 4070? Please reply to me!

Jarrod, have you see any notable differences in use and/or performance between, closing the laptop lid and using an external monitor, vs. turning off the built in monitor in windows settings keeping the lid open and using an external monitor? I have the ge76 raider with a 3060 and never tested the differences. Also I'm still on Windows 10.
