Undervolt your RTX 3070 Ti for more FPS! - Tutorial

Undervolting really seems to be the best option in terms of GPU optimization for the 3000 series. Be it a 3090, 3080, 3070 or even a 3060 Ti, I’d still recommend doing it. If you do it properly, you’re gonna lose virtually 0 performance or even get an increase, while dramatically reducing heat and power consumption. Today we are featuring an RTX 3070 Ti PNY XLR8 with three fans and using a 750W 80 Plus Gold Corsair PSU!

Wow, what great advice! I used the second preset on my MSI 3070 Ventus 2X, and took the average temp from 80+ to about 50-55 degrees. Thanks a lot!

Thanks for this. been fighting temps around 90c at full load on this new build. That number is now in the low 70s. You're a legend.

Love you so much, my dude! Dropped my temps 20 degrees while keeping the same performance… Amazing.

Thanks man, companies should be suggesting this to consumers, just did this on my suprim x and I’m using less watts, running cooler and feeling more relaxed about my cards health

Thanks for this guide. I was looking for my temp solutions on Reddit when I saw your comment. I was playing high on life with msi 3070 ti the temps were 80°C on avg not that it was too high but still worried me a bit. So I tried the same setting as you showed and now I get less than 70°C also got a fps boost of 15-20 on average. Thanks for the info. Great work 👏

After testing this for over 24 hours, the temperatures dropped by massive 20-25 degrees, the noise went down by a massive level as my fans are not longer full speed, and my FPS did not drop a single frame, instead they indeed increased by a minimal amount but the important part is I did not lose performance, you were right about the VRAM overclocking, you were right about the curve, you were right about the VRAM. You saved me from trying that ridiculous copper plate mod for my GPU that I was about to try and open more holes in my cases with a drill for more fans, saying I am impressed by this is quite the understatement.

Dude, thanks for the help, I was lowering settings(vsync and such) to get settings. Did this and my 3070 ti is running everything at ultra at super high frames, at sub 70 temps. You were a big help my dude, sub from me.

Holy cow! Thanks man, I used the first config you showed and my temps dropped by 10°C, while also gaining a bit of FPS. This is huge!

Thank you very much for your video sir!
Tested and approved 100%. It was such a pain to have my GPU hitting 83°C in intensive gaming when right now Im around 65°C without any visible performance downgrade, how is this possible lmao. Thanks a lot again

man, you're a legend, the GPU dropped from max 78C to 67C on 2k gaming, and increased the performance ate least by 20 fps, thanks a lot dude

You are a miracle worker, mate! I was so worried that my GPU regularly had gone above 80 degrees, and on top of that, the noise from my fans at 2600 RPM had been killing me. Now it barely touches 70 degrees, and my fans don't go faster than 2100. Thank you so much!

Thanks for that "L" which many fail to specify and infact turned out the solution to my problem because on every reboot the curve seemed to change a slight bit lower or slight above on the memory frequency

This is superb, my temp drop from 83 to 70 without sacrificing performance, and the wattage usage decreased from 170 watts to 110. Thank you 👍👍👍💛

1:44 I don't understand why you should lock the frequency. The card consumes significantly more power when idle if the frequency is locked. Are you more prone to problems or crashes with the frequency unlocked?

I saw my card reach 80+C (the first time ever since I bought it years ago), so I decided to give this a go. So far, while having the same frames, I peaked at 64C instead. Rather substantial difference if I may say so, will monitor this further but for now: Thank you, this is great!

Question though, when you say that it could usually get away with 1925 @ 900mV, does that take into account the 15mhz jumps due to boosting? Meaning it'd sit at 1940 occasionally. Or should I set it to 1910 instead so it peaks at 1925?
