Uninvited Stranger Caught Me Off Guard!

n today's episode of Wranglerstar, an unexpected visitor interrupts my day while I'm busy building on the cozy cabin. This uninvited stranger catches me off guard and asks me for diesel. I was appalled because he had a truck with a brand new kayak and bike on the roof rack! My response? "Sell your kayak and buy diesel." Needless to say, he didn't appreciate my answer and moved on down the road.

Left in shock at his audacity, I started to reconsider his way of life. Could it be better? Roaming free, unburdened by job or family obligations, and living without the weight of mortgage debt. This encounter made me reflect deeply on what it means to live a satisfying life.

Join me as I puzzle out who might be living the more fulfilling life: me, a man of responsibility, or him, a man living more carefreely.

Don't miss this thought-provoking episode!

One time I was getting gas early in the morning after a double shift. Random dude approaches asking for cash. I said I didnt have any. He asked if i could go get some from the ATM. Always amazed at this kind of person. Unreal.

Imagine being so entitled that you can’t even be bothered to walk up someone when you ask for a handout. Someone calling you over to them is always a red flag

what bothers me most about these kind of people is that they cant even bother to ACT humble in order to get what they want, only to move on with the same sleazy attitude to the next person too good natured to say no despites the disrespectful attitude

I was driving my tractor in my field one day. A car pulled up at the end of the field as I was working. The driver motions for me to stop and come down to talk to him. With a bit of hesitation and a kind of stern look on my face I oblige him, as I walk up he doesn’t say “Hello” or “how’s it going “ no, no he says “Do you have a job for me?” Dumbfounded I said nothing and returned to my work.

I can see myself reacting in multiple ways. I trust your instincts on this guy

“Sure do have diesel, it’s $15.00 per gallon”

You were 100% right, the way you handled it! He's just proof of what happens when you're coddled, and entitled! And not to mention, no manners, or class for that matter.

Waving you over? Yeah that's the wrong approach.

Don't be naive, he didn't need any diesel, recon on you, your property and belongings.

The entitlement is disgusting, it’s all about approach! He definitely didn’t act accordingly!

Help is one thing, feeling entitled enough to assume people will just give you want they worked for... no.

I’m the same way. Approach me in a time of need and I’d drop everything to help. His attitude however, left a lot to be desired. I think you did the absolute right thing, sending him on his way. Like others have said, for all you know, he may have been scouting.

I used to live literally with the Appalachian Trail bordering my back yard. I used to keep a stockpile of spare tent stakes, repair kits and even some spare tents I bought for cheap when I worked at a local sporting goods store (floor models).

I did however, have some unsavory characters, not only trespass, but were unapologetic for doing so and almost ‘demanding’ my kindness. Those were people I said no to.

Totally agree with everything you said in this one. I'm tired of people expecting others to just hand over what they have worked for.

He was audacious; and, manners cost absolutely nothing - I agree with Wranglerstar on this one!

In England we call that a 'no good, SCROUNGER'. You did the right thing to send him on his way with a lesson.
