Add or changing phone numbers on Gmail or Google is the same. Because both applications are interconnected.

To Start open any google application
Tap the profile icon in the top right corner
Tap Manage Your Google Account
Tap personal Info
scroll down to find phone number
Tap Phone
Tap Add now
enter your password
again Tap Add now
here enter your number
Frist. select your county
Then enter your mobile number
After adding Tap Next
To verify Tap Get Code
enter the code that you received on SMS
tap verify
Then your mobile number will be updated
