*How to set component*
Run PS2 without disc with connected AV cable
Choose System Configuration
Arrown down and choose Component Video Out
Press X button and change from RGB to Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr

*How to set component (blind)*
In case you do not have an AV cable and you run PlayStation with a connected component cable, sound will work but no screen so you have to set it in the settings PlayStationu Component Video Out from RGB to Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr

Turn PlayStation without disc
Wait approximately 20 seconds

This helped me out so much. My screen was black so i turned it on and just put in the inputs you did so I could change the settings without seeing them on screen and managed to get the picture to be compatible with my hdtv lol

Hello,
*Texture Mapping* it is for PlayStation 1 and settings reset to default every time when the console is turned off.
*Disc Speed* That setting allows the games to load the faster drive speed. PS1 CD-ROM speed is 2x with a maximum data throughput of 300 KB/s (double speed), 150 KB/s (normal). PS2 speed is 24x for CDs (3.6 MB/s).

1. Spustite PS2 bez disku s napojeným s AV káblom
2. Vyberte System Configuration
3. Prejdite šípkou dole a vyberte Component Video Out

4. Ťuknite X-ko a zmente z RGB na Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr
5. Odpojte AV káble z PS a TV
6. Pripojte k TV a PS2 component káble a TV ovládačom vyberte zdroj Component


*Ako nastaviť component naslepo*
V prípade že nemáte AV kábel a spustíte PlayStation s napojeným component káblom tak bude fungovať zvuk ale nie obraz a tak musíte nastaviť v nastaveniach PlayStationu Component Video Out z RGB na Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr 1. Zapnite PlayStation bez hry 2. Počkajte približne 20 sekúnd

Not so sure texture mapping works well on hdtv's. At least on Megaman X4, you can notice little lines through some textures, such as one across Zero's hair, and in a box like formation around him as he breaths.

Not sure if this happens on a crt as well, but I'd assume not.
