"Steph Curry isn't the best defender, so we are going to trade him in his prime" - Imagine if GSW said or did that lol.

I'll NEVER believe the GM can trade a franchise player in his prime without the approval of, or not at the direction of, the owner and/or President of basketball operations. No GM is that powerful or owner that uninvolved and stupid.

I just hate how they tried to bash Luka after the trade. Talking about his weight and dogging him out to make him look bad. No matter what he was all for Dallas and the disrespect after the trade was just crazy.

The only way Harrison could ever redeem himself is if he had gotten AD, Christie, and 8 1st round picks from the Lakers. Win back to back Finals in the next 3 years and draft someone with those picks thats as good or better than Luka.

Myers is respectful but honest. Mavs really have no longterm insurance (3-4 years). If they dont win the title in the next 2-3 years, they are going to be screwed for long time.

Beyond the trade and the return for it that can be debated forever, the equally terrible thing the Mavs did was their immediate defensiveness to the fanbase. I remember when Masai Ujiri traded huge fan fave Demar Derozan for Kawhi. Fans were in an uproar, and Masai's response was to praise Demar, console the fanbase, and stress that he felt is was a necessary move for the team at that time.
The Mav's response post trade was to attack Luka's character, refuse to give any logical reasoning on why it happened, and aggressively try to silence any anger from the fanbase, then had the audacity to announce increase in ticket prices. Whether or not the trade was bad, they compounded it by layering bad PR on bad PR on bad PR. Nico, Ownership, and the entire franchises management has made zero effort to reach out to the fanbase.

Nico and the owners took for granted having a generational talent, they will learn the hard way in the next decade how rare they come by.

Multiple organizations hasn't had one since maybe 2000. Worse part is they traded all their 1st round pick already, worst part is they have 3 superstars w/ injury history that hard to trust can last a whole playoff run.

According to Gilbert Arenas, who was reading from a text from "the source, " and said what he is reporting is 100% true. Lakers were not the first choice. They wanted Anthony Edwards first, so Minnesota got a call first. They also wanted Wembanyama, so they went to Spurs, and then they went to Lakers who pulled the plug. They wanted Luka gone for whatever reason.

Bob Myers is spot on! Nico swung for the fences with that trade, and now the pressure is ON. 🏀🔥 Can't wait to see if it pays off! 🤔

The return isn’t really why fans are upset Bob, it’s the connection Dallas fans had with Luka. Dallas loved Luka.

Anyone who thinks Nico Harrison made that trade is an absolute fool.

Why are people still acting like Nico did this on his own?

bob is right. dallas traded the future face of the league to win a ring now and that's it. no future plans and no plan B in case they didn't win a ring. they traded a future superstar who can deliver multiple rings in the future just to win 1 ring now which is not even a guarantee. this trade doesn't make any sense.

Luka was the definition of what a franchise player is : loved by the fans, huge potential for wins, spectacular. You don't trade your franchise player. You don't trade MJ, you don't trade Magic, you don't trade Steph etc...

Its not the trade as much as the way he and the Mavs ownership treated the fanbase afterward. They were upset, they stubbornly let the fans know they didn't matter. Kicking them out of games, and banning them. Hey I'm not a Mavs fan but when ownership treats the base that way, I will stand with Mav fans. Why because we the NBA fans pay for everything. Every job, player and owners. Fans are the NBA !!

This was highway robbery with the main culprit working on the inside! Not only did Nico Harrison set his own franchise back decades, but he helped make the Lakers relevant again. He sent the greatest player alive to a western conference rival, with absolutely nothing in return! The lack of draft capital in this trade proves not only was this trade designed to hut the mavs, but also help the Lakers

That's the nicest way of saying "he's an incompetent fool" I've ever heard

Nico “Birdbrain” Harrison is the dumbest General Manager in all of sports history.

Nico Harrison sh*t the bed with the Luka trade. Luka will make Nico and the Mavs pay for years. 💯
