The Philippine warships cost billions of pesos, and have duties to protect the West Philippine Sea. Do you think these are strong enough to guard the country from foreign threats? Let us know down below!

Kudos to the Philippine Government & Navy for modernizing & upgrades of warships! I hope there comes a time that we can build our own warships & even submarines for security & even trade. We can now say, the Philippines is ready! Viva Filipinas! 🇵🇭

Philippines will have 12 maritime assets in the next 3 years! 2 fully armed frigates, 6 offshore vessels 2 amphibious vessels and 2 more pohang class corvettes all from South Korea! Plus the finalist of submarine bidding will announce next year! And the chosen winner of multi role fighters will announce next year too! The total assets procurement will cost Philippines $4.8 billion in the next five years..

Bring back the Philippines' former glory in Southeast Asia! I know we can do better. I wish we had the same patriotism burning in our hearts as with our heroes who died for our country. We aren't patriotic as other countries. Filipino identity is lost which shows even in our language. It's just saddening.

There is no miracle. PH Navy has been left behind compared to their neigbors. The local politicians there have no sense of urgency and made the military stagnant for so many years. The period of Arroyo lasting almost 10 years seen the decommission of many warships without replacement. Even the chaotic Myanmar managed to procure more naval assets than a working PH.

The Philippines do not have a navy to counter China's navy at this time, nor does all other countries in the region. With China's ambition and claims to their "nine dash line", will there be an alliance between other countries in the region? IMAO, this would be most paramount at this time. I'd also like to see the Philippines develop its own defense industry, for defense and economic development.

Nothing wrong with acquiring warships, problem is the Philippines can never hope to match the plan hull for hull. What they should concentrate on is providing escort to transports moving troops and supplies from island to island, anti piracy, search and rescue, anti submarine, etc. It would be more useful for the fleet to acquire subs and missile boats. The navy should also consider building up it's naval air assets which will be more cost efficient and faster to procure than ships needed to set up a proper fleet. Fighters and strike aircraft posses the range and firepower to patrol and defend the country's eezs . Plus if the country ever threatened by China airpower only hope to hold off assaults until help arrives. Building up missile force and air force other cheaper and faster ways to shore up national defense. Key to country surviving an attack is to deny air superiority over and around country.

"The Philippines warship miracle". This sort of thumbnail is obviously intended to lure prideful Filipinos into watching this video. Singapore is a tiny island in ASEAN, but the navy is several times stronger than Philippines.

Philippines should focus both on maritime and nuclear industry. Nuclearization of these warships will significantly lower the costs, while nuclear energy will provide stable energy to a growing maritime and manufacturing industries.
