Post doc and PhD areas in certain biological science and engineering sciences like telecom and cyber security are anyways sensitive. DOS applies extreme wetting on such applicants in sciences and engineering.

Yudi I really appreciate you for putting this information out here. But bro it's not through enough, US have not banned any student coming for doing Master's or Phd from China. But they have put a check to verify is the applying student in any way related to Chinese Governement/Military. For example - If a student from China is apply to do a Master or Phd say in Artificial Intelligence then US Government would checks the background of that person and make sure that in no way that person is related to Chinese Gov or Military. But if a person is just applying for MS in Computer Science then that would be fine.
The Executive Order does not list everything clearly but I have been following this for very long time. There have always been concerns in US congress specifically about students from China coming to MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley to study AI, ML or stuff related to this.
At the end I just wanted to say that I appreciate your effort to put this out, but it's not complete info. No Chinese student have been banned to enter US(Except just for Programs related to AI, ML and defence Technologies)

Thanks for the update! But I see that the ban is only for students with ties to Chinese military and not all Chinese Grad students. So the ban is only on small fraction of students!

Chinese needed this ban to keep their dreams real and stop of getting to where they can thump their nose at US has failed and one who are being supported by army and dual use technology to get US tech from US to China. So that has been stopped and exports of the chips and such electronic items with dual use tech have been banned.
