The way I remember the difference between jump and call is to think of it as a physical action. When you call a function, you're shouting/giving a call to it so that it comes over to you to accomplish its task. It then returns to where it was before, leaving you in the same place since you never moved from it. When you jump, you physically jump over to another location, which means you have to jump again to get elsewhere/back to your original place.

I am very thankful that you returned to Renpy and are planning to make fresh revision of new version of it. Wish that these series will provide you more suscribers. You deserve that!

Cool - Hey for those that aren't using Visual Studio Code - The Ren'py extension actually displays a color icon next to your hexadecimal code and will let you pick a color from a dropper as needed.

One of the most beginner friendly if not THE only beginner friendly Renpy tutorial series! Thanks a bunch for making this! My only critique would be the background music. While it's been lowered whenever you speak, it is still distracting and doesn't help focus.

This *REALLY* got me started. I'm so thankful! First video in the course and I'm already producing visible results! I'm going to go through a little more before I start asking questions though. I have a strange feeling the one I want to ask is going to be answered in another entry.

I love this! Thank you. Only request I have is to please make the text bigger / zoom in for future videos. I'm interested in learning but I'm getting a headache trying to read the tiny text.
(Thank you! Looking forward to future vids!)

Thank you for all the wonderful information and guidance on Renpy throughout the years! I watched your old "beginner to advanced" tutorial playlist and was so excited to see that you've updated it. I wouldn't know anything about Renpy if it weren't for you. Just wanted to let you know that there are tons of people out there who appreciate your hard work :)

I just discovered your tutorials from 5 years ago and they were a helpful start. When I saw you had a more recent one, I jumped at the opportunity to watch them. I really like your no-nonsense style. Looking forward to watching these!

I am really happy that you make this series, but maybe you could "scroll in" a bit within renpy.. it's like fontsize 7 on a 1080p monitor and the full right-hand-sided part of the screen is just blank :)

I really needed this video. You are breaking things down REALLY simply and slowly, like you understand you're probably dealing with a lot of novices. Thanks, subbed!

A very nice tutorial. You provided very clear explanations of everything.
I'm looking forward to future episodes to learn how to use RenPy in a better way than I have so far.
Cheers!

Thanks for the tutorials. In the future, could you please zoom in on the code editor? It's really hard to read at the current font size. Thanks again for creating this type of content!

somethig that was breaking my brain for 2 hours with the expected statement or whatever had a super easy solultion, and the searches I did never gave this solution in a way that a noob can understand.
The answer is simple:
Whenever you hit enter to write a new line, DONT DELETE indentations or you will mess up the tree, and break the logic. Almost 2 hours of my first 3 I had them constantly experiencing this issue.

Thank you for this Highly informative video! I digested the concepts easily. It's also cool that you would put "mistakes" there then the next second you will call it out. So the difference of the 'correct' way sticks to my mind better ( at least on my case). Will continue to watch your tutorials of Renpy. Again, Thank you very much.

this may be the best video to learn renpy basics (the music sound annoyed me a bit though :) )

Loved the tutorial, thank you.

That said, the music was quite distracting tbh.
