From all the textbooks that I've started from it has been very over-complicated
This explanation was executed perfectly

eHow can you please solve this particular problem ?
a gear set has a pinion with 20 teeth and a gear with 40 teeth, the pinion runs at 30 rev/s and transmitting power of 20 kw the teeth are on the 20 degree full depth system and have a module of 5 mm, the length of line of action is 19 mm, what is the contact ratio of the contacting tooth ?
anyone can solve this please do comment it!

So if the gears are 8:4 and 20:10 both give the ratio 2:1 then how do I know what one is best to use and how will the ratio change if say 20:10 was changed to 24:10 or 24:11 thankyou.

I still don't get why say, 0.5:1 is faster than 3:1. Could someone please explain :( Thanks.

how can i find gear ratio of rack and pinion

this makes confuse..,
i think.
Gear ratio=Angular velocity of driver/Angular velocity of driven
Gear ratio(GR),
=No.of teeth of driven/No.of teeth of driver
So in this video, 2:1 up and 2:1 down is same as 2:1 and 1:2

Too simple. Well done.
Technical question for you.
The ratio has to be divisible by the lowest common denominator?
12 tooth primary drive
1 to 4 ratio to 2nd gear of 48 teeth.
So, 46 teeth would not work?
Building a model in Fusion 360 and I'm having fits with the motion link.
Thanks

does diameter of the gear affect the rpm calculations in any way?

its very simple, keep it simple. that sentence is the best i have heart the last weeks. it reminds not to search always the complex way when everybody else means, that projects are too complicated. thank you

I wondering about the ratio, if the result of 4/8 and 6/12 =0.50, then the speed-torque-acceleration will be performance the same or something will be difference.
According to the same ratio but difference sprockets, then how can we know which one are better or appropriate to use?

Thank you so much.

I thought the wheel’s diameter determines the turn ratio.
