Pile 1: It was so accurate that it chilled me. Right now I am actually the one that left the US to teach in another country. Before I left the US I had a talk with my person about trying to start a relationship and doing long distance, but they said they couldn't do that especially since my returning time was uncertain. Now after 2 years I am planning to return to the US and we stayed in contact for the entire 2 years. Pile 3 resonates so well!!! I’ve been dealing with someone for ~6 months and it’s just not progressing the way I’d like. The emotional connection isn’t there the way I want it. I was questioning/blaming myself for the way things were going (ex. I need to communicate more, I’m asking for too much, I need to be patient etc etc) but lately I’ve just been thinking…WHY? Why should I settle for less than I really want? Why should I feel like I have to work so hard to make things work? So many things in my life are going so well and this relationship is just kind of bringing me down and making me question my value. I know that I can be with someone who values me and who makes it feel easy to be with them, I’ve experienced that before, so why settle now?? It’s time to be honest with myself and with him about what I want, and I’m now prepared to walk away from the relationship with peace and a new level of understanding.
