If your dog turns their head away this is one of the first signs that your dog may be feeling uncomfortable with what is going on. When your dog is feeling like this they may move away like Shadow did in this video. He did not growl, bark, snarl or lunge he simply turned his head and moved away. I saw a situation recently where a child was trying to kiss a dog, the dog clearly felt uncomfortable and was turning their head away from the child, the child had their arms around the dog so the dog was not able to move away from the situation. This was not recognised by the owners and in time this could escalate to where the dog growls as a warning or even worse goes on to bite.
