What is the tallest country (geographically)?

Which country spans the most distance in the vertical direction? All distances are calculated by subtracting the southern latitude from the northern latitude, then using the approximation that each degree of latitude = 68.95 miles. Since the earth isn't a perfect sphere, actual distances on the ground might be slightly different.

This channel is brand new, and I'm starting this as a hobby to get into videography. I would love any comments or suggestions moving forward!

Note: I mention in the last scene that I did not count Águila Islet when comparing Chile to Brazil. This is because it is a tiny island about 50 miles from the other islands in Tierra del Fuego that is almost invisible on most maps, and generally does not come to mind when people think of the outline of Chile. However, it was counted in the first two definitions I had (which were all overseas territories for the first and adjacent islands for the second). If you were to count Águila Islet in the Chile-Brazil comparison, Chile would be about a mile taller.

The definition for this question should be: Which country covers the most degrees of latitude with its territory?

so, we have:
- Largest latitude span counting oversea territories: Norway
- Largest latitude span counting only constituent states: USA
- Largest latitude span counting contiguous land and nearby islands: Canada
- Largest latitude span counting only contiguous land (except rivers): Brazil
- Most elongated country (largest ratio between latitude span and longitude span): Chile
- Most incorrect guess for all definitions: Russia

Brazil is in fact the highest country in the world. To get an idea: the extreme south of Brazil is so far from the extreme north that if we measure the distances, the extreme north is closer to *ALL countries in the Americas* Than the extreme south. Yes, those who live in the state of Roraima are closer to Canada than those who live in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Crazy!

An interesting fact about the ones in Brazil is that there are actually towns on both the northernmost (Uiramutã) and the southernmost (Chuí) points, as opposed to the other countries on this list

There are many cities where it snows ❄️ in the South of Brazil, and there's also land above the equator.☀️ It's incomprehensibly large

Wow, I just finished watching the video and saw that you only have about 250 subs 😳 Your content was so good I thought you were a big channel, but it's strange that you're so unpopular. Keep your efforts up, you're doing really great!

Fun fact: Brazil is the only country cut by two of five main terrestrial parallels: the Equator and the Tropic of Capricorn. p.s.:The other three parallels are: Arctic and Antarctic circles and Tropic of Cancer.

3:06 you have a problem with japan as the main island is Honshu. But you have cut off the top half of Honshu and added Kyushu and Shikoku.
Same with Indonesia.

Brazil is also considerably wide too, i think it's only 300-400km taller than wide, in fact, the Eastern most point is closer to THE AFRICAN CONTINENT than it's western most point

I think we should add something to the definition: don’t include the space inbetween but only the territory.

Also, Chile isn’t tall as it is skinny
