Grace Slick "never a looker?" Are you kidding? As a man who was 13 in 1967, I can testify otherwise, along with many others. And God, that

Grace Slick and Janis Joplin were the two dominant female singers of the late 60's. Fortunately, Grace has survived. I was fortunate enough to see them both many times back then and loved them equally for different reasons. I hope their music lives forever.

"Grace Slick was never a looker..." She was gorgeous in the early days of Jefferson Airplane, and she had formerly been a model, so so much for "not being a looker"...

She was so attractive, really good looking but more importantly a genuine character with a fantastic personality. Awesome voice too!!!

She's a pretty lady. Strong, talented, a very good singer. She burned her candle @ both ends in a time period where people "shared" their "love" in ways where drugs, & alcohol were "popular" Woodstock memorabilia. Times change, & so do successful singers, such as Grace did.

Check your facts! Surrealistic Pillow was not JA's first album. Jefferson Airplane "Takes Off" was their first album with Signe Anderson on lead vocals who was replaced by Grace on The Airplane's 2nd album Surrealistic Pillow.

I saw Starship at William and Mary College near Williamsburg, Va in 1974. During the show, possibly during "Somebody To Love?" A guy in the front, climbed up on the stage, grabbed Grace and "layed a liplock" on her. He was promptly "escorted" off the stage. Grace just stood there, not singing watching him, until she regained her composure. What a memory!!!!

The lack of dates that mark the milestones of her life is sorely missing here

In 1979 I named my daughter Grace, after Grace Slick. She has turned out to look just like her, but with nice brown eyes.

Grace Slick and the Great Society is a fantastic album, and the members were talented, in contrast to what was stated here. Not Grace's greatest effort at Somebody to Love, but an absolutely stunning first ever recorded six minute version of White Rabbit, which was written by Grace, btw. This album was recorded in 1966, and she joined Airplane later that year.
